Fink documentation
Fink is a free i18n editor that runs in your browser. It opens the translation files in a GitHub repository, shows every language of a message side by side, flags problems, and commits your changes back to the branch. Your repository stays the only copy of your translations: there is nothing to import, export or sync.
Start here
- Getting started: open a repository, edit, review and push in five minutes.
- Set up a project: add the
project.inlangfolder Fink needs, for i18next, next-intl or Paraglide JS. - Supported formats: what Fink can open today, and what it can't.
- Fink for teams: how translators and PMs edit text without JSON or git.
Using Fink
- Editing translations: languages, search, filters, adding and deleting messages.
- Reference locale: which language Fink compares translations against.
- Plurals, selects and exact numbers
- Checks: what each problem means and how to fix it.
- Unused messages
- Review and push: what Fink commits, and what it leaves alone.
- Branches, forks and pull requests
- Translators and non-developers: who needs what account and access.
- Local drafts: where unpushed work lives.
Integrations
- i18next: JSON files, namespaces and plurals.
- next-intl:
messages/{locale}.json, namespaces, ICU plurals and rich text. - Paraglide JS: the inlang message format, unused messages and usage in code.
